MARA’S RESUME

Mara began her career in Natural Medicine while studying Plant Science and Physical Anthropology at the University of Northern British Columbia. She became fascinated by the complex inter-relationship between plants, humans and their environments. After graduating from UNBC with her Bachelor of Science, she decided to continue her studies at Dominion Herbal College, where she enrolled in an intensive three year in-class course in Clinical Herbal Therapy.

After earning her diploma as a Clinical Herbal Therapist, Mara opened her practice in New Westminster, B.C, where she practiced until moving to Powell River, B.C. in June 2006. During this time, she also gained certification as an Aromatherapist at the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy.

Mara is currently working towards her Doctorate of Natural Medicine (DNM) through the Alternative Medicine College of Canada.

MARA’S PHILOSOPHY

In her role as an educator, Mara encourages clients to take a proactive approach to their health and teaches them how decisions they make about nutrition and lifestyle can affect their physical, emotional and spiritual health.

In her role as a practitioner, Mara helps clients reach their health goals by supporting their body’s innate ability to heal using quality botanicals and supplements, as well as nutritional counseling and lifestyle amendments.
